Maybe im not missing much, i havent really tested the output of the A77 vs the low bitrate output of movie maker / corel.
Part of the reason I went with an A77 was to get higher quality video but what good is that if half of its detail is being thrown in the garbage? Movie maker supports 25mbps and it seems like corel videostudio x8 only supports 20mbps even though i think it will do a 70mbps 4k.

its 50mbps 1080p looks great, but i havent found an editor that doesnt throw away all that bitrate. I returned my samsung NX500 because i didnt want to deal with 4k and got an A77 mkii.
For my stills i use adobe lightroom, but for video I have been content with windows movie maker except that it doesnt support high bitrate 1080p nor 4k video. I have been dabbling more and more with video lately and i am out of the loop on a quality editor.
